Oooh! Ahhh! Fireworks! And Other Fourth of July Fun in Loudoun

fireworks copyThere’s no better place to explore authentic American places than Loudoun, Virginia. And there’s no better time to do so than over Fourth of July weekend, America’s Independence Day! We’ve compiled all the events happening around the county here, and even included a handy “Fireworks Finder” with maps at the end for easy reference. Who doesn’t love fireworks? Have a happy and safe holiday!

Saturday, July 3

Lovettsville Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day one day early! A hometown parade kicks off the event, followed by family activities including pony rides, games, face painting, and more. Enjoy music and concessions all evening, and a fabulous fireworks display.

Live Music and Fireworks on the Terraces
It’s a night to remember, under the stars on our outdoor terraces with music filling the air and the sounds of sizzling grills. Live music by The Backseat Betties, who specialize in rock, pop, and punk music. Take Pat Benetar, Guns and Roses, and Avril Lavigne and mix them all together! Freshly prepared food and picnic basket snacks will also be available for purchase. Visitors are welcome to bring a blanket and sit on the lawn. Fireworks follow the show.

Annual Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate the Fourth in Hillsboro. Enjoy live music from Hewn from the Mountain and a performance by the Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers. Our celebration will include fun activities for kids including face-painting, a moon bounce, sack races, and games where they’ll have a chance to win prizes. Free ice cream will also be served. Top off the evening with a brilliant fireworks show (with both aerial and ground displays)! BBQ chicken dinner and other food available for purchase.

Leesburg’s Independence Day CelebrationLeesburg July 4th Parade
Leesburg’s 4th of July celebration begins with a hometown parade, beginning at Ida Lee Park and traveling down King Street through the historic district to Catoctin Circle. The event continues with a “Celebration in the Park” at Ida Lee with food vendors and live music. The grand finale will be a wonderful fireworks display over the park.

Middleburg’s Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day all day in Middleburg. Swim in the pool during the day, then enjoy music, games, contests, and food. Fireworks will commence at dusk.

Ol’ Time 4th of July Celebration
Celebrate an old fashioned 4th of July set in the park’s historic area. Activities include pony and wagon rides, a pie eating contest, crafts, an amazing reptile show, and nature exhibits. Tour the historic Lanesville Ordinary and see displays at the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum. Enjoy live music and food vendors.

Pride of Purcellville’s 4th of July Parade
Enjoy children’s rides, entertainment, food, craft vendors, and of course, a parade! The Fireman’s Parade will start at noon, proceeding from Emerick Elementary to Loudoun Valley High School.

Ashburn Village’s 4th of July Celebration
Follow or participate in the Village Parade starting at Fincastle Field where all decorated bikes, wagons and strollers are encouraged to march in spirited attire! Following the parade the family can stay and enjoy inflatables, a dunk tank, DJ, and concessions. Fireworks and  live music at the Lakes Recreation Center will finish the evening. Parade 10:30am; Pool party 11am-4pm; Fireworks and live music at dark.
